A $450 check is being mailed within two weeks to
880,000 Americans - find out if you qualify
In just two weeks, nearly a million Americans will receive a check worth $450.
Maine's winter energy relief program will begin
sending out payments at the end of January.
State officials said the $450 checks should be mailed by March 31, 2023.
It was approved by the state legislature as an emergency
Measure as part of the Emergency Winter Energy Relief Plan.
“With high energy prices causing real hardship,
this emergency measure will ease the financial burden on
Maine people by putting money back into their pockets and
ensuring that our most vulnerable citizens will be able to stay warm
this winter,” Mills said in a statement after signing the bill into law.
Maine residents are eligible for the payments in the amount of 880,000.
