A million people are being urged to keep an eye out
for letters regarding rebates worth $200
to $1,050 before their credit cards expire
There are millions of Americans who will receive tax rebates
valued at up to $1,050 in the form of
Debit cards, but they have an expiration date.
The Middle-Class Tax Refund (MCTR) should have sent debit cards to Californians.
There have already been nearly 23 million
MCTR payments issued via direct deposit or debit card.
Several batches were issued beginning in October 2022
and continuing through January 14, 2023.
More than 9.4 million debit cards have been issued in California,
But the money won't be available for a long time.
According to the Franchise Tax Board, the Middle
Tax Refund Debit cards will expire in April 2026,
So people will only have about three years to use them.
