There are unexpected tax bills on rebates between $600 and

$1,050 being received by Americans - see if you're one of them

The American people are fuming over the fact that if

they receive a rebate in 2022, they may have to pay taxes on it.

If you live in California, this might apply to you.

Since the fall, the state has been sending rebates through

the Middle Class Tax Refund program (MCTR).

In general, they are worth between $200 and $1,050, depending

on the number of dependents, income, and filing status.

In addition to providing some relief from high inflation,

California's Franchise Tax Board did issue a warning that rebates over $600

Must be reported on a 1099-MISC (Miscellaneous Income) tax form.

It still comes as a shock to some unexpecting taxpayers.
